International Student Advisor


The responsibilities and functions of International Student Advisor (ISA) include:
  1. Answering questions from students in the Faculty of Economics and Graduate School of Economics and offering advice on problems which foreigners may encounter while living and studying in Japan.
  2. Assisting in the Japanese language needs of the many international students who are writing papers or theses in Japanese.
  3. Responding to inquiries from foreign students about the Graduate School of Economics and its programs.
  4. Coordinating inter-university exchange and cooperation programs.

The International Student Advisor (ISA) also seeks to offer assistance to international students in any other ways which may be of help.

BIOGRAPHY


M.A., Tokyo Woman's Christian University
Since April 1991 she has been working as an international student advisor in the Graduate School of Economics at the University of Tokyo. She has passed the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test and until April 1998 provided Japanese language assistance to international students writing papers or theses in Japanese. Currently she is mainly offering advice on problems international students encounter while living and studying in Japan and developing internet web pages to provide useful information about the school to prospective students.
