Career paths

QI understand that the program is geared in helping students to become scholars and educators. However, some students might want to take a different path such as serving corporations, commercial industries and the business world by applying the economical know-how learned from UTIPE. Does the program help such students by securing internship opportunities or corporate visits? Hence in addition to becoming scholars and educators, what career paths do you expect graduates to take?

AOur program does not particularly assist internships in corporations, although some corporations advertise their internship opportunities. We regularly receive advertisement for internship in international organizations such as IMF, World Bank, Asian Development Bank. About one-third of graduates of our regular MA program proceed to a doctoral program at University of Tokyo; about two-thirds find jobs in civil service and corporations or move to other graduate schools including those in foreign schools.
